It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Peter Blencowe, a former Headmaster of Brambletye, on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, at the age of 95.
Peter Blencowe was a significant figure in Brambletye's story, having been both a pupil and later the joint Headmaster, a role he held from 1959 to 1975. He continued the legacy of his father, Rev'd John Blencowe, the school's founder in 1919. Peter often referred to his headmastership as a privilege, seeing himself as the "Head of a Family." He met his wife Anna at Brambletye, and together they dedicated themselves to the care of the boys.
Peter will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by many old boys, parents, and staff.. We offer our sincere condolences to his family at this time.
